NASA leader Raila Odinga was on Tuesday sworn in as the ‘people’s president ’ of the Republic of Kenya.
Mr. Odinga took the oath at Uhuru Park grounds in Nairobi on Tuesday at minutes before 3pm.
The oath was administered by Ruaraka MP TJ Kajwang and former Nairobi gubernatorial candidate Miguna Miguna.
However, NASA co-principals Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Ford Kenya’s Moses Wetang’ula and ANC’s Musalia Mudavadi skipped the swearing-in ceremony, a move that signal the internal disagreements in the coalition over the oath taking.
Addressing thousands of National Resistance Movement supporters who attended the ceremony, Raila said that his deputy Kalonzo Musyoka will be sworn in at a later date.
